Legislation and regulations – what you should know as an employer

When you hire foreign labor, there are a number of laws and regulations you need to be aware of. We know these thoroughly – both theoretically, but perhaps most importantly, practically through many years of experience with international recruitment.

Through this, we have built solid expertise in the legislation in the field – which we actively use to ensure that our customers are always on the right side of the law.

The act on temporary agency workers

The act on temporary agency workers stipulates that temporary agency workers are entitled to the same pay and conditions as permanent employees in comparable job functions. This applies regardless of nationality.

This law undoubtedly covers all our temporary staff. We ensure that all collective agreement conditions are complied with – and you avoid the risk of lawsuits and/or negative publicity.

Contractual wages and memberships

BlueCollar is a member of VikarBranchen, an association under the Confederation of Danish Industry, as well as the Danish Construction Association. These memberships are not a requirement – they are a conscious choice because we want to meet the highest standards in the temporary staffing industry.

As a member of VikarBranchen, we are subject to, among other things, random audits by an external auditor who regularly verifies that we comply with regulations regarding employment, wages, pensions, vacation pay, and social security contributions.

Taxes and practical matters

Foreign employees in Denmark must adhere to a range of practical and tax-related matters before they can start. We take care of that.

Among other things, we provide:

  • Preparation of tax card
  • CPR number and health insurance card
  • Guidance on rules in the Danish labor market
  • Tax advice for foreign employees

Working environment act

All employees in Denmark are covered by the Working environment act – regardless of whether they are permanent employees, temporary workers, or posted workers. This imposes requirements on both employers and staffing agencies to ensure safe working conditions.

We ensure that our temporary workers are equipped to work safely from day one – including through the translation of instructions and ongoing guidance.

Unsure about the rules? Ask us.

We are not lawyers – but we have many years of practical experience with the laws governing the employment of foreign workers in Denmark. Contact us at +45 702 35 702 if you have any questions.
